Fat Transfer
You might be a good candidate for fat transfer if you have one of the following:
- Thinning lips
- Flat or hollow cheeks
- Flat or hollow eye areas
As we age we tend to lose fat in our face. It’s as almost as if our face is deflated. Fat grafting can re-volumize the face and provide a fresh youthful look to the face that can last many years. Unlike fillers, fat grafting can last forever.
Dr. Urban will harvest the fat from your abdomen, hips, or inner thigh. The fat will then be processed and then injected into the areas of facial fat atrophy. Because of the advanced and reliable technique he uses, a significant number of these fat cells will survive and graft to fill in the areas of treatment. Fat grafting is performed under local anesthesia or IV sedation. All surgery is performed on an outpatient basis in our state-of-the-art Joint Commission operating room, complete with all of the required monitoring, anesthesia delivery, and emergency equipment. When this procedure is done correctly by a Board-Certified Facial Cosmetic Surgeon like Dr. Urban, the results can be wonderful.
You will have swelling tenderness and probably look worse than better. But rest assure the swelling, hardness, and tenderness will resolve in approximately 10 days leaving you with a wonderful more youthful look.
