FACIAL COSMETIC SURGERY INSTRUCTIONS
- Do not eat or drink after midnight on the night before surgery. If surgery is to be performed in the afternoon, then the patient should have nothing to eat or drink for at least eight hours prior to surgery.
- Any medications that are normally taken should be taken with a sip of water unless otherwise instructed by the doctor.
- A responsible adult must accompany the patient and remain in the waiting room for the entire time of the planned procedure, or leave a cell phone number if they plan to leave. The escort must be able to drive and have a car in the immediate area during the surgery since the patient will not be able to drive for at least 24 hours after the anesthesia or sedation.
- Loose clothes with a short sleeve shirt should be worn to facilitate the starting of an I.V.
- Contact lenses should not be worn on the day of surgery.
- The anesthetic can not be administered if you have a severe cold, sore throat, or sinus infection with excessive drainage. If you develop any of the problems prior to your appointment, please call the office so that we can reschedule your surgery.
- No make-up, earrings, or any jewelry (including body jewelry). Please remove fingernail polish.
- While taking antibiotics, birth control pills may become ineffective. Extra precautions should be taken while you are on antibiotics.
- Be here 5 minutes prior to your appointment time. If you are late or do not have an escort, your appointment will be rescheduled, resulting in a $100.00 fee.
- Please call West Jordan Office Phone Number 801-282-5363 to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Please give 48 hours’ notice or more for cancellations. If you reschedule or cancel your surgery less than 48 hours prior to surgery, you will be charged a $100.00 fee.
- Payment in full is expected on the day of surgery unless prior arrangements have been made. Cosmetic surgery payments must be made in full 2 weeks prior to the day of surgery.
- You can not drive a car or operate machinery while taking narcotic pain medications.
- Asthmatic patients should bring inhalers.
- Diabetic patients should bring their own glucose testing equipment.
